"National parks need to create where a different species grow, and different types of wood, and also live rare animals."

State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine supports the need to expand the Natural reserve fund in the areas which are unique in terms of biodiversity conservation. This was reported by T. V. Head of the department, Khrystyna Yushkevych, commenting on the issue of creating national natural parks for one of the radio stations of the country.

“National parks need to create where a different species grow, and different types of wood, and also live rare animals.” To this end, we will engage scientists who would be substantiating the feasibility of the creation of National natural parks. According to European standards, the objects requiring conservation and preservation should not be very large in the area,-said Christina Yushkevych.

She explained that national natural parks are not useful to create in areas where artificial plantations are growing, having a tree of one species and age. “For these trees need more care, they are very prone to pest, in such a tree the processes of injection are faster, which increases the danger to the spread of fires”,-said Christina Yushkevych.

As the T. V. Chairman of the state Forestry, Ukraine pledged to expand the area of Natural reserve fund up to 15% of the total territory of the country until 2020, due to different types of landscapes. “However, we must not actually accomplish this plan, but realistically, and without prejudice to people and nature.”

An example, around Kiev are the local Dnieper-Desnyansky and Chernyansky landscape preserves and Cranberry ornithological reserve, on the basis of which you can create a National natural park. Or, indeed, not on the paper, make for people national parks in Koncha-Zaspa and Pushcha-Vodytsi,-said Christina Yushkevych.
