Young lissivky from Kirovohrad and Poltava region took part in the international competition "Youth in the forests of Europe"

In the Latvian city of Tukumsi on September 28-30 the final of the International competition "Youth in the Forests of Europe" (YPEF) took place. 12 teams from Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Czech Republic, Austria, Portugal, Greece, Germany, Ukraine, Romania and Hungary took part in it.

Our country, which this year was the second time the participant of the European finals, represented a pupil of school forestry "Parodok", which acts on the basis of Svitlovodsk Specialized school № 7, Diana Guseynova and Poltava schoolgirls Veronika Maksakova and Tatyana Novosemova. Diana performed together with representatives of the Czech Republic, in the team Tatiana was the youth from Lithuania and Portugal, the team members of Veronique became participants from Portugal and Romania.

Accompanied by young Lissivachok head of Kirovohrad Regional Department of Forestry and Hunting economy Nataliya Revenko, who is a member of the International Commission YPEF in Ukraine, T. O. The head of the sector of international relations, science and public relations of the state forestry of Ukraine Lyubov Polyakova and chief specialist of the Poltava department, Tamila Vaydenko.

According to the competition terms, the national teams were not the only groups: by the results of the draw the contestants joined the international teams of three men, and in this composition performed a task. The language of communication in the competition was traditionally English.

The competition program included three stages: testing of the knowledge of young people in the biology of forest plants in Europe, their conditions of growth and distribution, flora and fauna; Knowledge of legislation on protection and preservation of nature of Europe and the main areas of European nature, as well as main types of forestry management. The second task was to manufacture and presentation of posters on the forest theme. The youth also performed practical tasks in the territory of the Tervetsky Natural Park.

Even though the teams in which our girls were performing, the victory did not get into the international level not only in Kirovohrad and Poltavschyna, but also the entire forest community of their country.


The next international final competition will take place in Hungary.

Let us recall that for the first time the Ukrainian team joined the participants of the YPEF in 2015 year. In Romania, young Lissivnyk Andriy Galushka of Red-Nerbashevsky school forest, which is in the Kirovohrad region, being in the squad of the team, took the first place.
