Interactive map of deforestation-the beginning of real reforms in the forest industry-corner

Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Taras Kutovyi presented an interactive map of deforestation in Ukraine. The pilot area on the example of which is presented by the principles of the study-Zakarpattya

In order to fulfill the task of the Prime Minister, monitoring the state of forest use was conducted. On the territory of Zakarpattya region, the results of monitoring are staggering-third of illegal,-said the minister.

According to the minister, no fact of illegal chopping will not remain without attention.

All received data, as promised earlier, will be transferred to competent law enforcement agencies: National Anti-Corruption Bureau and General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine. No fact of illegal chopping will not remain without attention!,-said the minister. “Our goal is transparency and the beginning of real reforms in the forest industry,” he added.

In fact, according to the minister found 871 a plot of the actual solid forest of the total area of 2112.49 hectares. Of them-530 plots total area of 774 hectares of solid forest, which do not coincide with the configuration and location with the normative deforestation.

This pilot project on building an aerospace monitoring system for deforestation can be applied throughout the country. This is possible due to the coordinated work of the agrarian policy and the involved bodies of executive power, in particular, the state geocadastre and the state forestry. I am confident that this will allow to react promptly to the illegal felling of forests, noted Taras Kutna.

«The functional of interactive map allows to provide control of timber stock log in annual interval. As a result of its application, in particular, by law enforcement bodies, we will be able to establish civilized forestry and to prevent losses of budgets, which are now being “black loggers”,-noted the first Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Maxim Martynyuk.

The results of the monitoring are based on the materials of the State land cadastre, materials of the normative deforestation (according to the data of “Ukrderzhlisproekt”), as well as space satellite shooting materials of Zakarpattia Oblast in the general The area of 7881 sq. km, which was held during August – October, 2016.

The largest number of plots of continuous actual deforestation in Zakarpattia Oblast, which do not coincide with the regulations of deforestation found in Mukachevo forestry-112 plots total area of 128 hectares, Perechinsky forestry – 88 plots total Area of 162 hectares. Rakhiv Forest Research Economy – 42 plots total area of 109 hectares.
