On October 17, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany visited the 
State Enterprise “Belotserkivsky Forestry” within the framework of the working visit . 
        At the beginning of the meeting, First Deputy Chief of the Kyiv Oblast and Kyiv City Forestry and Hunting Management Ruslan Guzenko familiarized the guests with the forestry structure of Ukraine, the main directions and principles of forestry management, statistical data and indicators of the activity of state forest enterprises of the Kyiv region.
        Under the chairmanship of Anatoliy Vitryak, Director of the State Enterprise “Belotserkivsky Forestry”, the delegation visited four quarters of “Tomiliv Forestry”. German foresters were shown forest areas that have oak, ash, linden in their composition and require special attention. On the example of these sites, one can clearly observe the influence of adverse environmental factors and their consequences – degradation of plantations, decrease of their environment-specific functions. There are trees with obvious signs of disease, dryness and damaged by windbreaks, and the reasons for this are the impression of mushrooms, plants – parasites, pests.
         During the acquaintance with the work of the enterprise, the experts of the forest enterprise noted that the general warming of the climate and the decline of the groundwater level to 1 m “moved” the forest massif of the Kyiv region deep into the steppe zone. Our and foreign specialists discussed the causes of the problem and exchanged experiences in coping with the consequences of this disaster, outlining the priority measures. They emphasized that the weakened and affected trees are the focal point for the spread of diseases and pests. The timely detection and removal of such trees, at present, is a major measure of forest salvation. At the same time, more attention should be paid to the gradual reforestation of forest plantations and the quality of planting material,
       During the excursion on the territory adjacent to the administration of the forestry, the colleagues were shown the work of the lower warehouse for the temporary storage of forest products with the possibility of loading it for rail transport. Sincere curiosity arose introduced in the enterprise system of electronic accounting of wood, its benefits and the very process of work. Also, the motor transport shop, the shop for processing of low-quality wood and the basic nursery, the area of ​​which is 25 hectares, was visited. 
       At the end of the meeting, foresters from Germany and Ukraine discussed ways to share experiences and prospects for cooperation.
