Total control over the circulation of wood will help to destroy the corruption component-Christina Yushkevych

She noted that the European Union operates a regulation of № 995, which prohibits the importation of wood and products from it, if the origin of raw materials is not proven. And in Ukraine, we are constantly getting into a boil, they say, we allow to take out illegal wood.

“However, it is not so clear. Certificates on wood are issued by the territorial bodies of State forestry. That is, the buyer is obliged to come to us and show all the documents. That’s only the management given the age of testing. For such a short time, just physically impossible to do so. As a result, if there are all signatures, all seals, we are obliged to issue a certificate, because for false information is responsible for the person who submits documents,-said Christina Yushkevych.

According to her, the frauds are technically unable to keep track of corruption factors, it is not in their competence to identify counterfeit documents: “That is, because of the imperfection of the legislation, illegal wood is quietly legalized.” And only postfactions, when the police will find certain violations, can be found out the true origin of the forest,-said Christina Yushkevych.

The head of the state forestry emphasized that after the introduction of the electronic accounting system of wood for all permanent forest users, the origin of the forest can be checked anywhere and at any moment. “This will not only destroy the corruption component, but also create all conditions for total control over the circulation of wood,” stressed Christina Yushkevych.
