Every year on the third Sunday of September in our country the forest worker’s Day is celebrated – professional holiday of forestry workers and woodworking industry of Ukraine. State Enterprise «Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky forestry» is located on the territory of four districts: Baryshivka, Zgurrivskiy, Yagotinsky and Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky. The main directions of activity are: maintenance of forestry, reproduction and preservation, protection and protection of forests, maintenance of forest-seed business, harvesting of forestry resources and production of products from them. – The total area of forest ranges is 16178 hectares. By April this year we had four forest-farming: Berezanske, Studkovskaya, Pereyaslavskoye and columnar. Having adopted the advanced European experience, the administration of forestry decided to increase the number of forest. For example, in Poland according to one forest a fixed territory should not exceed 1000 hectares. The smaller the area, the greater the order on it. – What works, except wood billets, conducts forestry?

The people have the idea that the forest wardens only deal with the cash of wood. But if we only cut off and did not renew plantations, the Pereyaslav region would have long been a navel. Only this year the workers of our farm were planted with 1 million 75 thousand annual seedlings. And all the seedlings are grown in our nurseries. This process is quite long. A specialized dryer is available at the forest farm on the territory of student forestry. From here the seeds are sent to the three nurseries of columnar, Berezanske and Studyanykivska. There are cultivated annual saplings, which are then planted throughout the forest area. In addition to new landings, we protect the forest from pests, both insects and people.

– Yes, it is people! With the closure of the landfill in the large karst, the forest grew considerably. Despite the fact that every year in the spring workers of the economy spend a lot of great territory, people continue to take trash from their own estates in the forest, turning it into a big trash. I think that with such ugliness it is necessary to fight not only employees of forestry. All indifferent citizens should be protected by the forest. But rubbish is not the only problem we face in everyday life. Forest fires cause the greatest damage to the wood. Thrown away cigarette butts or not redeemed fire after rest, a burning rod in the fields near the forest lead to the sunbathing of the significant forested areas.

– Is fighting with fire also included in your duties?

So. For this purpose in forestry there are own fire trucks. Two are in Pereyaslav, one in Berezan. In addition, each forestry alone made improvised units for extinguishing fires. To do this, the single-channel trailers were installed with water and motor pumps. In the case of the sunbathing they first arrive at the place and begin to extinguish the fire before the arrival of firemen cars. We also have two viewing platforms with video surveillance behind the forest. One is in Pereyaslav, another in Berezan forest. And in the fire-dangerous period we organize additional alternation of supervision over the forest.

The Park Arboretum was created. What is his destiny now?

– The Arboretum area is half a hectare, it is planted about 3.5 thousand. Trees and shrubs. Among them are exotic for pereyaslavschiny, like Magnolia lember, Karaganda, Sakura, Deltia, Spirey van-Guta and many others. Also created a large flower club. All planted plants were beautifully removed. I think that in a few years there is already possible to rest in the shade of exotic trees.

Speaking about SE «Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky forestry», Volodymyr Omelyanovych noted that this year the prize will not only be the workers of forestry, but also his pensioners. He also said that the driver of the state agency of forest Resources of Ukraine was awarded to a professional holiday of honour of the national forestry resource, and thanks to the masterful workshop of Victor Cuckoo. The Diploma of the regional Department of Forestry and Hunting economy was awarded to Yevgeniya Picalf, and thanks to the workshop of Roman Fesenko, a teacher of the newly formed Pomrokskyi Forestry.
