Ukraine and Turkey will expand cooperation in forestry

General Directorate of the Forestry of the Turkish Republic expressed his wish to expand cooperation within the framework of the Intergovernmental agreement in the field of forestry. This was reported by T. V. The head of the state agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine Christina Yushkevych on the results of the meeting with Turkish colleagues.

Grateful to the Deputy Director general Mr. Ali Fuat and the delegation to the members for the visit. I hope we develop specific steps to assist Ukraine,-said Christina Yushkevych.

She said that already this year five representatives of the State forestry have been trained in the International Training centre of Forestry in Antalya by the fire protection system of forests.

Meeting with representatives of the Directorate-General of the forestry of Turkey took place within the framework of the seminar, during which Ukrainian and Turkish forestry had exchanged experience in the protection of forests against pests and diseases and restoration of forest areas.

This is a very important issue for us. Having attracted international experience, we will be able to create own program of restoration of the Forestry Fund,-stressed T. о. Chairman of the State forestry agency.

In his turn, Deputy director general of the Forestry Directorate General of Turkey Ali Fuat has expressed appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the seminar and to communicate with Ukrainian experts.

He emphasized the need to expand cooperation with Ukraine in the timber industry.

Note that the Turkish delegation within the visit will also acquaint with forestry in Zhytomyr and Zakarpatska oblasts.
