In modern conditions, when the Ukrainian society faces a number of ecological, social and economic problems, for the forestry enterprises of Ukraine in its activity an important issue becomes an effective combination of environmentally Responsible, socially advantageous and economically viable management of the forests they believed. Environmentally balanced and responsible forestry provides procurement of timber and other forest products while preserving biodiversity and forest productivity, natural environmental processes. Socially oriented forestry contributes to the growth of the welfare of local population and society in general. Economically viable use of forest resources means that forestry and forest use are organized and managed in such a way as to be profitable, but not due to the depletion of natural resources and natural ecosystems.

The above-mentioned requirements and criteria are intended to carry out the forest certification. This procedure is a conformity assessment of the forestry system established by the international requirements for the management of forests and forestry on the basis of sustainable development. Certification is carried out by the internationally accredited organizations, which guarantees independence, impartiality and objectivity of the evaluation of forestry in any country. In Ukraine, the development got a forest certification according to the International Scheme FSC ® (Forest Stewardship Council ®), which in translation sounds like a forest Trusteeship Council – An international non-profit non-governmental organization, which aims to promote responsible management Forests all over the world. Directly on-site certification is carried out by the third Independent Party (audit company) authorized FSC in each specific country certification body to guarantee the objective and impartial assessment of forest management. This audit differs from the remaining inspections in forestry because it is not intended to punish, but on the contrary, to encourage enterprises to improve executive activities, to help resolve conflicts arising in forestry, to obtain Understanding and credibility by the local population.

After successful certification, the production of the company receives the right to be marked by the corresponding logo, as a guaranteed confirmation of consumer legality and sustainability of the sources of wood origin, which is later used for Production of goods. Every year the world increases the number of consumers who are obliged to use products only from certified forests. Forestry enterprise certification of own forests, in addition to image and moral bonuses, allows to occupy a more stable position on the domestic and foreign markets of forest products.

Taking into account the urgency and importance of forest certification issue, the administration of the SE "Makariv forestry" was decided to pass this procedure to our enterprise. For this purpose between Forestry and LLC "Legallis" (one of the representatives of officially accredited certification authorities in Ukraine) was concluded a contract on the provision of services to carry out certification evaluation of forests. According to the agreement, the auditor must estimate the conformity of forestry in the enterprise to the international principles and Criteria FSC.

In June 2018 the first stage of work was held – pre-audit, during which the experts-auditors of "Legallis" have familiarized themselves with the enterprise, decided on the main problems of forest management in the location of forestry, identified the circle of Parties That may be interested in obtaining information regarding the passage of this certification and can take active part in its conduct, determined by the presence of forests of high environmental value. But this is only the first step of forestry to obtain a forest certificate, on the move to the enterprise is waiting for the basic audit, according to the results of which experts-auditors will determine the validity of the enterprise's desire to be certified, and then, each year, will be To be carried out control (supervision) audits to prove compliance with the enterprises principles and Criteria FSC.

One of the defining requirements of forest certification is openness and availability of information about the course of audit, its findings, reports and conclusions for all stakeholders, as State institutions or public organizations, and for any Average citizens, not indifferent to the questions of forestry.
