On October 23rd International Scientific-Practical conference "social and ecological challenges of forestry and forestry management and their overcoming" will be held.

Organizers: National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, FSC, state agency of forest Resources of Ukraine, National Forestry University of Ukraine, Society of Forestry of Ukraine.

Venue: Forest and garden-park economy Nubip of Ukraine (M. Kyiv, Vul. General Rodimtseva, 19)

Motivation: climate change, which causes the emergence of catastrophic natural phenomena, weakening, and further mass death of forest plantings, aggravation of conflicts around the destination and carrying out the runes become significant obstacles to functioning Existing models of forestry. Additional challenges for the countries of transition economy are increasing the contradictions between conflicts of interest in supporting and increasing the development of public utilities (ecosystem services) and simultaneously market demand, increase of production Timber under conditions of weakness and insolvency of institutions to solve them. Overcoming contradictions is inhibited by the lack of multilateral dialogue and low-culture search for consensus. The transition to adaptive forest management should be accompanied by the formation of appropriate mechanisms and transformation tools ranging from the national forest policy to changing the practice of a close to the nature of forestry.

Objective: The Conference should execute a platform function to find answers to the challenges associated with uncertainty in the conditions of dynamic change in the formation of management decisions, to promote a multilateral dialogue on the strengthening of institutional structures and development Risk-sustainable forestry management strategies and modern practices of adaptive Forestry for Eastern Europe.
