Volodymyr Bondar took part in the General Meeting of the Forestry Academy of Ukraine

For the forest industry, a "voice of science" is very necessary. Today, Deputy Chairman of the State Forestry Agency Volodymyr Bondar emphasized during the General Meeting of the Forestry Academy of Sciences of Ukraine that took place at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences.

During his speech Volodymyr Bondar informed the audience about the situation that had developed in the forestry industry during the past year, and told about plans for the future.

In particular, he noted that he managed to prevent the intentions of transferring forests to the concession by introducing to the bill "On Concessions", which was adopted by Parliament in the first reading, the corresponding additions.

"This is our common victory. The mentioned bill amends the Forest Code of Ukraine, which stipulates the impossibility of transferring forests into a concession, "said the Deputy Head of the State Agency of Forestry.

Volodymyr Bondar also informed about the options for reforming the industry and called on Ukrainian scholars to give their conclusions on this issue.

"The forest industry is absolutely necessary for the" voice of science "to be precisely from the scientific point of view, to be balanced and professional in terms of both reforming the industry and, generally speaking, forest management," he emphasized.

Vladimir Bondar did not go over and the problem of massive drying of forests.

"Now we can not effectively fight this phenomenon. We have hands attached so far. The sushi remained with this problem one by one. At the same time, in Europe, it is quite possible to confront the problem of drying forests. From our side, we have made the necessary changes to the Sanitary Rules and now we defend them in agreement with various authorities ", – informed the Deputy Head of the State Agency of Forestry.

He drew attention to the fact that now the society is being forced to think that foresters deliberately invented the problem of spreading pests and mass extinction, but this is not true at all.

"Already there are scientific conclusions and the rationale that this is really a problem and how to deal with it. However, here too, science needs more work and expression. And, hopefully, we will be able to overcome this problem by joint efforts, "Volodymyr Bondar emphasized.

In addition, the deputy head of the department informed that cooperation with the German-Ukrainian agri-political dialogue is ongoing with the aim of conducting a national inventory of forests in Ukraine.
